My Pure·Delight – NMB48 in the AKB48 32th Single Senbatsu Election

About a week late, but the results for AKB48′s 32th Single Senbatsu Election were announced last Saturday. I’m happy that my kami oshi Minegishi Minami (Miichan) managed to increase her votes by about 13,000 and grab the 18th position. She might have dropped from Senbatsu to Undergirls, but considering evertyhing that’s happened, that’s a pretty happy result for me as a Miichan oshi. We have a new center in Sashihara Rino (Sasshi) and after years of fans speculating about Shinoda Mariko’s (Mariko) graduation from AKB, Mariko finally announced it.

But of course, this post is going to be about how NMB fared in the election. The preliminary results was less than desirable, but I think the final results should be one that should please NMB fans. Former NMB48 Team N member Yokoyama Yui (Yuihan) received 53,903 votes, ranking #13 and making senbatsu. As for current NMB members, the group managed to get 9 members to rank in the Top 64.

14. Yamamoto Sayaka (51,798 votes)
15. Watanabe Miyuki (44,116 votes)
28. Yamada Nana (23,950 votes)
40. Jonishi Kei (17,381 votes)
44. Yagura Fuuko (16,281 votes)
49. Yabushita Shu (14,745 votes)
50. Yoshida Akari (14,684 votes)
54. Ogasawara Mayu (13,460 votes)
57. Ichikawa Miori (12,616 votes)

Four NMB members ranked in the election for the first time. Team N’s Yoshida Akari (Akarin) and Team BII’s Yabushita Shu (Shuu) will accompany concurrent NMB member Ichikawa Miori (Miorin) and Team N member Ogasawara Mayu (Maachun) in Future Girls. And Team M ace Yagura Fuuko (Fuuchan) and Team N member Jonishi Kei (Keicchi) made their election debuts in Next Girls.

As for the five members who ranked last year (not including Fukumoto Aina), all the members managed to increase their votes and move up the rankings. Maachun jumped 6 spots from her ranking last year, after not ranking in the preliminary results. Miorin moved up a spot to the #57 position. Transferred Team M member Yamada Nana (Nana) nearly tripled the votes she received last year, leaping from Next Girls to Undergirls. And both Watanabe Miyuki (Milky) and Yamamoto Sayaka (Sayanee) moved from Undergirls to finally achieve Senbatsu status in the election.

Nice to see the NMB members ranking and moving up the election boards. Also, I’m quite pleased that Team M and BII were able to get some representation with Fuuchan and Shuu ranking. I’m hoping the following elections bring even more good results for NMB, like more members rankings and Milky and Sayanee jumping into higher (hopefully single-digit) senbatsu positions

Congratulations to all the Top 64 members in the AKB48 32th Single Senbatsu Election!

My Pure·Indifference – The Tokyo Dome AKB Team Shuffle

By now, I think most people who follow AKB have heard about the team shuffle announcement made on the first day of Tokyo Dome. A groundbreaking announcement which saw Team 4 disbanded, team captains changed, members switching teams, more sister group transfers, and even members permanently moving to international ***48 groups.

Which makes it weird for me to say: I don’t think I really care much.

Well actually, I definitely do care about the individual girls and I hope that each member finds their own happiness through this stressful shuffle period. It was definitely difficult to watch the girls’ reactions to the shuffle in that Jijipress video. But I think the shuffle might have been the death knell to my interest in AKB48 as a group. (Though my interest might have faded long ago and don’t worry, my NMB interest hasn’t faded one bit.) All the changes Aki-P has been making for the post-Maeda Atsuko (Acchan) AKB48 have just drifted my attention away from the group. I still will always love the AKB members, but I’ve mostly been following my favorite individual members only. I really hope my kami-oshi Minegishi Minami (Miichan) does well in the newly formed Team B and that she is happy there.

In regards to the NMB interests in the Team Shuffle, I’m hoping NMB Team N member Kotani Riho’s (Ripopo) transfer to Team A will be a success. (She will still be a member of NMB48 as well.) I was opposed to the whole transfer idea when Watanabe Miyuki (Milky) was moved to Team B, but I’ve lightened up on the idea and now I hope this transfer helps Ripopo’s popularity. Ripopo looked so distraught when her transfer, but I’m confident she has the strength to take on both her NMB and AKB duties. (As long as Aki-P doesn’t overwork her.)

Also, I’m a fan of Yokoyama Yui (Yuihan) and I think she will be a great addition to NMB, but I’m concerned which member gets taken out of senbatsu for her. With Team N still overpowering the senbatsu positions, I’m scared a non-Team N senbatsu slot might be taken by Yuihan. Also of concern is what team Yuihan ends up joining. Do they make her an honorary N or M member or do they make Yuihan captain/ace of Team BII?

I still wish Aki-P wouldn’t involve sister or international ***48 groups in the shuffle, but that’s the new AKB48 Aki-P has made. I just don’t know if I like it.

My Pure·Delight – 9 Members Chosen to Voice Act in AKB Anime

The 9 members who will voice act in the AKB anime, AKB0048, have been decided. The nine members include the following.

AKB48: Ishida Haruka, Iwata Karen, Sato Amina, Sato Sumire, Nakaya Sayaka, Watanabe Mayu
SKE48: Hata Sawako, Yagami Kumi
NMB48: Mita Mao

Along with them, 4 other names were mentioned, possibly to voice background characters. They were Takeuchi Miyu (AKB), Murashige Anna (HKT), Kinoshita Momoka (NMB), and Furukawa Airi (SKE).

I thought any 9 members would be good, but Hata Sawako (Shawako) making it definitely put a smile on my face. So happy. Can’t wait to watch this anime.

EDIT: The website has been updated with info on the characters and story and ANN has a translation on the plot.
