My Pure·First Impression – TOxxxIC PV Preview

I’ve been longing for something new music-wise from Hirano Aya (Aya-chan) since the release of her album FRAGMENTS last year and I’m getting my wish next week with the release of her newest single TOxxxIC. And now the preview PV for TOxxxIC has been uploaded on Universal Music Japan’s YouTube channel.

I honestly can’t be unbiased about Hirano Aya, so it should come as no surprise that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed everything about the PV for TOxxxIC that I’ve seen so far. The song itself has a nice flow to it, without ever feeling too chaotic or fast-paced. Definitely a song I could be repeat for awhile without getting sick of it too quickly. As for the PV, I love the costume and while I’ll always love Aya-chan best with black hair, Aya-chan’s light colored hair meshes well with the shadowy dark and blue background. And I’m thrilled that this TOxxxIC PV gets to show off Aya-chan dancing.

Oh, and did I mention how stunningly beautiful and sexy Aya-chan looks in the PV? Because yeah… she totally does.

And it’s probably just me, but I got Itano Tomomi (Tomochin) Dear J vibes with the costumes and the background dancers, which is certainly fine for me.

This is Aya-chan’s 1st single since 2010’s Hysteric Barbie and personally I’m liking the direction Aya-chan’s music career seems to be going. I really hoping this single does well. Hirano Aya’s newest single TOxxxIC releases on February 20th.

My Pure·Viewing of NMB48 no Teens Hakusho Episode 45

NMB 48 no Teens Hakusho Episode 45

It’s been a crazy time being a ***48 lately and with all the craziness going on in the fandom, I wanted my first blog post in over a month to be on something simple.

So let’s get back to watching Teens Hakusho. This week’s episode of Teens Hakusho includes NMB members Yamada Nana (Nana), Shinohara Kanna (Kanchiru), and Okita Ayaka (Aapon). And this week’s episode of Teens Hakusho is my favorite kind of episode of Teens Hakusho: a food episode.

NMB enjoying crab legs, KFC, sweets, and more makes me happy. I envy the girls for being allowed to eat so much delicious food. Not much to explain about the episode really. If you love NMB and you love food, watch this episode and you won’t be disappointed. NMB food pic spam after the jump.

My Pure·Hopes and Wishes for NMB in 2013

Happy New Year everyone!

2012 was definitely a very successful yet emotional year for NMB48 and their fans. We saw 15 NMB members graduate along with the introduction of the new 3rd and 4th generation members. We saw the numbers of teams triple with the creation of Team M and Team BII. We saw five NMB members rank in the AKB’s 27th single election. We saw AKB48 Team A member Yokoyama Yui (Yuihan) transferred into the group and placed in Team N.We saw NMB dominate G+ with their antics and mayhem. We saw NMB release 4 great singles. We saw how awesomely funny NMB could be in Geinin!. And we finally, finally got NMB LODs for us fans to enjoy NMB in all their stage-worthy glory. And I probably missed something amazing that happened to NMB in 2012.

I’m hoping that 2013 is an even bigger year for the group. NMB already announced their releasing their 1st album scheduled for release on February 27th and that NMB will be getting their own Request Hour sometime in 2013. Of course, I have my own personal hopes and wishes for the group for 2013. My completely biased short wish list for 2013 after the jump.

My Pure·Intrigue – NMB 4th Gen Members Revealed

NMB48 4th Gen

There’s been a lot going with NMB lately with Sato Sorai’s (Sorai) and Hikawa Ayame’s (Ayanyan) recent graduations along with the announcement of NMB’s 1st album and own Request Hour coming next year. And now the group is growing even more, with the 4th generation members being revealed. The profiles for the 4th gen members have been posted up on NMB’s official website and a video of the new members introducing themselves is up on their official YouTube channel.

It feels like just yesterday that the 3rd gen NMB members were first introduced, so part of me hopes that NMB doesn’t add the 5th gen for quite awhile. I don’t want NMB to be filled with too many KKS, which will ultimately lead to more graduations. That said, I’m really excited for the potential of the 4th gen and I’m hoping to learn more about them as we move into 2013.

My Pure·Pride – Kitagawa Kenji 1st Week Sales

Another NMB48 release, another #1 single. After its first week, NMB48’s 6th single Kitagawa Kenji has sold 317,051 copies and taking the #1 on Oricon’s weekly chart.  That is up from the 315,205 1st week sales of NMB’s previous single Virginity. Kitagawa Kenji is NMB’s second straight #1 single in a row and their 5th #1 single overall.

While the sales of Kitagawa Kenji didn’t reach the 1st week sales of Junjou U-19 or Nagiichi, I’m still very pleased with the sales numbers. Kitagawa Kenji is a great single and I’m happy to see it get #1. With the sudden rash of graduations and the formation of a new team, the group is still ever changing and evolving. I repeat it all the time, but it’s the truth: there’s still more great things to come from NMB. (I mean just look at HA!) And with the introduction of NMB LODs, hopefully more people will see just how wonderful NMB is.

Congratulations on another #1 single, NMB48!

My Pure·First Impression – HA! PV Preview

The short preview PV for NMB48’s HA! has been uploaded on their official YouTube channel. The song is one of the c/w songs for AKB48’s 29th single Eien Pressure, releasing on December 5th.

The lineup for HA! includes

Team N: Ogasawara Mayu, Jonishi Kei, Kotani Riho, Kondo Rina, Shiroma Miru, Fukumoto Aina, Yamada Nana, Yamamoto Sayaka, Yoshida Akari, Watanabe Miyuki
Team M: Shimada Rena, Tanigawa Airi, Yagura Fuuko
Team BII: Kato Yuuka, Yabushita Shu
Other: Yokoyama Yui

When I first heard the title of the song HA!, I immediately thought it would be a funny, joking around song. But the song instead has a very smooth, cool vibe going for it. The story in the PV seems to be pretty basic. It involves Watanabe Miyuki (Milky) getting kidnapped and Yamamoto Sayaka (Sayanee) and the other NMB girls trying to save her. I don’t hate the storyline, but I did find that it distracted me from the song quite a bit. Still, I always enjoy seeing the girls acting, so I can’t complain too much.

My favorite parts of the PV would easily be the dance scenes on the boat. It seems like some people don’t really like the girls’ dresses that they wear on the boat, but I like them very much. The dresses are a nice mix of elegance and spunk that I think fits NMB perfectly. And obviously, the girls look gorgeous. As others have said, I wish there would be a dance version of the PV, so we could see more of the dance.

HA! will be featured in Type-B of Eien Pressure. AKB48’s 29th single releases on December 5th.

My Pure·First Impression – Hoshizora no Caravan/Renai Higaitodoke PV Previews

NMB48’s official YouTube channel has uploaded the short preview PVs for the Shirogumi track Hoshizora no Caravan and the Akagumi track Renai Higaitodoke. And once again, my impressions are a bit of mixed bag.

First, the line-ups for Shirogumi and Akagumi:

Team N: Ogasawara Mayu, Kondo Rina, Yamamoto Sayaka, Yoshida Akari
Team M: Azuma Yuki, Okita Ayaka, Kinoshita Momoka, Takano Yui
Team BII: Akazawa Hono, Yamauchi Tsubasa
2nd Gen KKS: Hayashi Momoka
Other: Yokoyama Yui

Team N: Kinoshita Haruna, Fukumoto Aina, Yamaguchi Yuuki, Yamada Nana, Watanabe Miyuki
Team M: Kawakami Rena, Shimada Rena, Hikawa Ayame, Mita Mao, Yagura Fuuko
Team BII: Kurokawa Hazuki, Muro Kanako

Shirogumi’s Hoshizora no Caravan PV looks to take place in a lodge in the woods. The vibe of the PV is rather solemn as we see a few troubling flashback scenes with the girls looking less than happy. The trip to the lodge seems to be a getaway from their stressed filled lives. The softness of the song itself matches the PV, though I find the song slightly dreary and boring.  The choregraphy is pretty forgettable and although there were a few cute scenes of the girls hanging out together, the PV just seems dull and old-fashioned. I can only hope the full version will have something special to make the PV stand out to me. But I can’t help but feel disappointed about Hoshizora no Caravan.

Watching Akagumi’s Renai Higaitodoke PV leaves me feeling crazy – in a good way. The first thing you notice is the song itself. I honestly can’t make heads of tails on how I feel about the song. The 1st time I heard Renai Higaitodoke, I absolutely hated it. But each new listen leaves me a new impression of the song. I feel it’s unlike anything that I’ve ever listened to before and I can’t not listen to the song. The PV has the girls in a police lineup, apparently the suspects of an attack on a man. Just everything about the PV screams fun, from the stylish red costumes during the dance sequences to the unique way each girl met the injured man. Unlike Hoshizora no Caravan, I’m optimistic about the Renai Higaitodoke PV and I hope it’s as exciting as I’m expecting it to be now.

As usual, the Shirogumi PV will be in the Type-A edition and the Akagumi PV will be in the Type-B edition of Kitagawa Kenji. NMB48′s 6th single Kitagawa Kenji releases on November 7th.

My Pure·First Impression – Kitagawa Kenji/Fuyushougun no Regret PV Previews

On NMB48’s official YouTube channel, the preview PV for NMB48’s 6th single title track Kitagawa Kenji as well as the PV for the Namba Teppoutai Ni song Fuyushougun no Regret have been uploaded.

I know it’s only a short preview PV, but I can’t find anything I dislike with the Kitagawa Kenji PV. I honestly absolutely adore everything about the PV. I love how upbeat and energetic the song is. I love the whole classroom environment and the girls wearing glasses with playing with their pens at their desks. I love the other bright, pink setting, and the colorful costumes the girls are wearing along with the fantastic hair styles the girls are flaunting. I love seeing Yokoyama Yui (Yuihan) and how she seems to fit in so with the other NMB members.  So yeah, a lot of love for the Kitagawa Kenji PV.

The first thing I heard about the Fuyushougun no Regret preview PV was that it was like the Sunahama de Pistol PV in that PV didn’t match the song. After watching the preview PV, my first impression was that that’s still true, but much less to the extent Sunahana de Pistol was. That’s probably because the girls are wearing seifukus instead of fatigues. Yagura Fuuko (Fuuchan) is centering Namba Teppoutai Ni, replacing the Kotani Riho (Ripopo) led Namba Teppoutai Sonoichi. So far I’m liking what I see what the PV so far. The song seems pretty sweet and although a more fast-paced hardcore would have fit the PV more, I’m not that bothered by it too much. Also, I’m wondering where the plot of the PV with the girls using weapons and beating up bad guys is going to go. A lot of potential for another good PV.

Now I’m eagerly awaiting the single and the Akagumi and Shirogumi preview PVs. NMB48’s 6th single Kitagawa Kenji releases on November 7th.
