My Pure·NMB Top 5 Ranking

NMB48

Ever since Ebi48 closed down, I hadn’t done a new NMB ranking. Until I stumbled upon akbsort on Tumblr and used the ranker to rank all of the NMB members. And here’s my Top 5 NMB members.

My NMB Top 5 Ranking
5. Kawakami Chihiro (Chihhii)
4. Takano Yui (Yuipon)
3. Yamada Nana (Nana)
2. Yoshida Akari (Akarin)
1. Jo Eriko (Jo)

Chihhii has really jumped up my rankings and seeing her ice skate was a nice treat. Since Team M was originally formed, Yuipon has slowly but gradually found her way up my NMB ranking. And her hard work has paid off with more exposure and three straight singles making senbatsu. Nana, my original NMB oshi, is now captain of Team M and a concurrent member of SKE48 Team KII. And she’s still as amazing a performer as when I first start getting interested in NMB. I don’t even how it’s possible, but it seems Akarin gets prettier and prettier every time I see her. She definitely has quite the model aura about her.

And Jo… I absolutely love her.

My Pure·Hopes and Wishes for NMB in 2013

Happy New Year everyone!

2012 was definitely a very successful yet emotional year for NMB48 and their fans. We saw 15 NMB members graduate along with the introduction of the new 3rd and 4th generation members. We saw the numbers of teams triple with the creation of Team M and Team BII. We saw five NMB members rank in the AKB’s 27th single election. We saw AKB48 Team A member Yokoyama Yui (Yuihan) transferred into the group and placed in Team N.We saw NMB dominate G+ with their antics and mayhem. We saw NMB release 4 great singles. We saw how awesomely funny NMB could be in Geinin!. And we finally, finally got NMB LODs for us fans to enjoy NMB in all their stage-worthy glory. And I probably missed something amazing that happened to NMB in 2012.

I’m hoping that 2013 is an even bigger year for the group. NMB already announced their releasing their 1st album scheduled for release on February 27th and that NMB will be getting their own Request Hour sometime in 2013. Of course, I have my own personal hopes and wishes for the group for 2013. My completely biased short wish list for 2013 after the jump.

My Pure·Sadness – Jo Graduates from NMB48

With fans and members Team N on hand to watch, Jo Eriko (Jo) performed in her final Team M stage today (9/28) and has graduated from NMB48. You can find more pictures of Jo’s graduation performance on the Google+ account of the theater manager of NMB48, Kaneko Takeshi.

I’ll truly miss you, Jo. Hope you have all the happiness in the world in whatever you do.

My Pure·Reminiscing – Jo in Naniwa Nadeshiko

With NMB48 Team M ace Jo Eriko’s (Jo) graduation nearing, I decided to look back at the 1st show which really exposed me to Jo. Of course, that show would be Naniwa Nadeshiko. I had forgotten how much I loved the show and Jo was definitely a key part in how amazing the show would be. She made her first appearance in episode 11 and from then on, her bubbly personality and her lovely smile melted my heart. There were a lot of great Jo moments during Naniwa Nadeshiko, but two episodes really stand out to me for Jo.

The first episode would be my favorite episode of the entire show: the moe-inducing episode 18. Simply Jo at her sweetest and cutest. The second episode that stands out for Jo would be the 24th and final episode. The NanaJou manzai. Just pure awesomeness. (Makes me wonder why Jo hasn’t really been used for the manzai skits at the end of Geinin! episodes) In the end, the final MVP of Naniwa Nadeshiko was Jo and it certainly was well deserved. To me, she made the final episode.

Of course, I was hoping Jo would be around for the second season of Naniwa Nadeshiko. (I really think a second season will happen. Gotta believe!) But as she graduates from NMB48, I’m just thankful she was around for the first season. And she definitely left a lasting impression on me. *sigh* I’m going to miss you, Jo.

My Pure·Sadness – Jo Announces Her Graduation

At yesterday’s Team M stage perormance, Jo Eriko (Jo) announced her graduation from NMB48. She cited her studies for the reason for her graduation. Her graduation performance will take place on Friday, September 28th.

I can say that I’ve never gotten as emotional about something from this fandom as I did when I read about Jo’s graduation announcement. Seeing the announcement was like a punch in the gut and I spent my day (at work) in a state of pure shock. In my head, I can’t even imagine NMB without Jo. She is one of my favorite members with her bubbly, spunky personality and a smile that would make anyone who saw it fall in love. I was always felt Jo had a way to infect everyone around her with positive energy. She will truly be missed in NMB.

I’ve probably be writing some sort of dedication post to Jo before her official graduation from NMB48. Until then, I hope Jo nothing but the best in her remaining time in NMB. And I hope she’s forever happy in whatever she does with her life.

Thank you for everything, Jo!
