And Ono Erena is back! The PV for Ono Erena’s debut single Erepyon has leaked out online and it’s an absolute joy to see her back. The song and PV are awesome.
From my interpretation, the PV features idol Erepyon and boxer Ono Erena in a representation of Erena before and after AKB. During the boxer Erena gets knocked down a bit, which sort of symbolizes Erena after her graduation from AKB a couple of years ago. But she gets backs up and ultimately knocks out idol Erepyon. We still see the same cute and cool Erepyon we know and love and yet she’s grown up now and is different from the AKB idol Erepyon.
I’m hoping that Erena’s single does well and she’s back in the entertainment industry to say. Erepyon sounds great and I’m optimistic about the rest of the single now. One Erena’s debut single Erepyon releases on June 13th.
The first day sales figures are in for the long-awaited battle between Nogizaka46’s 2nd single Oide Shampoo and Sashihara Rino’s (Sasshi) debut solo single Soredemo Suki da yo. Nogizaka46 came out in 1st place for the day with 111,222 copies sold. Sasshi finished the day in 2nd place with 56,789 copies sold.
Really impressed with the sales numbers for both Nogizaka46 and Sasshi. I think the huge promotion of the Nogizaka46/Sasshi feud worked out really well. I know some people feel that this result is a disappointment for Sasshi, but the 56,789 copies sold is more than the 1st day sales of Itano Tomomi’s (Tomochin) last two singles and Watanabe Mayu (Mayuyu) debut single. And with the AKB election coming up, I think Sasshi’s fans might have been saving up their money to vote for her. And I think the result is more about how Nogizaka46 is gaining a lot of popularity and I’m happy to see it. A really nice increase from the 1st day sales of Guruguru Curtain. Let’s see how the sales numbers for the rest of the week come out.
The preview PV for NMB48’s 4th single track Nagiichi is out on NMB48’s official Youtube account. Quite simply, it looks like Nagiichi will be NMB’s best A-side PV to date and I couldn’t be happier. People seem quick to compare the PV to AKB’s Ponytail to Shushu, but I think this Nagiichi PV is much better.
It’s a few days old now, but I can’t stop watching the performance of Guuzen wo Iiwake ni Shite from the episode of Nogizakatte, Doko? this week. Nogizaka46’s 2nd single is releasing soon and one of the coupling songs will be performed by what looks like could be Nogizaka46’s first sub-unit. The group of four is made up Shiraishi Mai (Maiyan), Matsumura Sayuri (Sayurin), Hashimoto Nanami (Nanami), and Takayama Kazumi (Kazumin). I know the song itself definitely won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but Guuzen wo Iiwake ni Shite has a nice electric pop feel that’s right to my liking. And while the performance doesn’t have any complicated or big action dance moves, I actually like the small and simple hand gestures and whatnot. Maybe it’s just me, but I find a certain elegance in the slight movements of the dance sequence.
And no surprise, I have a weakness for really cute girls. Having four of my favorite Nogizaka46 girls in a sub-unit just makes me extremely happy.
Guuzen wo Iiwake ni Shite will be a coupling song on Nogizaka46’s 2nd single Oide Shampoo. The single releases on May 2th.
The covers for NMB48’s 4th single Nagiichi have leaked online and unsurprisingly, the 1st summer-style single for NMB48 has summer covers. The covers features the senbatsu members in the proper beach attire, bikinis. The first thoughts I had when I saw the covers were Ponytail no Shushu and Everyday, Kachuusha. The Nagiichi covers are not exactly the most original and they probably won’t be my favorite NMB48 single covers when all is said and done, but no question the girls are very beautiful in the covers. I can’t complain.
From the theater cover, it looks as though the NMB 7 this single will consist of Ogasawara Mayu (Maachun), Jo Eriko (Jo), Watanabe Miyuki (Milky), Yamamoto Sayaka (Sayanee), Yamada Nana (Nana), Fukumoto Aina (Ai-nyan), and Tanigawa Airi (Airi). Interesting that Airi would make NMB 7 since this is her first single in senbatsu. Excited to see how much of a push Airi gets.
NMB48’s 4th single Nagiichi releases on May 9th.
Details on NMB48’s 4th single have been announced on NMB48’s official website. The title of the next NMB48 single is Nagiichi and it seems it will be a summer jam. Just like in Junjou U-19, there will a solo coupling song included in the single. This time the solo song goes to Team N member Watanabe Miyuki (Milky). The senbatsu members for Nagiichi include:
Team N: Ogasawara Mayu, Kadowaki Kanako, Kotani Riho, Kondo Rina, Jonishi Kei, Shiroma Miru, Fukumoto Aina, Yamada Nana, Yamamoto Sayaka, Yoshida Akari, Watanabe Miyuki
Team M: Kinoshita Momoka, Jo Eriko, Tanigawa Airi, Murakami Ayaka, Yagura Fuuko
I know it’s inevitable and necessary, but I’m always sad to see more Team N members removed from senbatsu. I’m ecstatic that Yoshida Akari (Akarin) is back in senbatsu. She appeared on NMB48 no Kagaijugyo recently and she performed with her fellow NMB48 members during AKB’s 3 day SSA concert. Looks like she’s getting back in the flow of things and I hope she’s in senbatsu to stay.
NMB48 4th single Nagiichi will be released on May 9th.
Bit of old news here, but as announced on NMB48’s official website, NMB48’s 4th single is scheduled to be released on May 9th. The title of the single has not been released yet.
To me, it felt like just yesterday Junjou U-19 was released, but I’m always happy to see more NMB48. Hoping for another awesome single just like their first 3.
I’m still trying to learn more about the individual members of Nogizaka46 as I’m becoming more and more fascinated in Nogizaka46 the more I see of them. They have that certain charm that draws me in to watching the group. My really short review of Nogizaka46’s Ushinaitakunai kara PV: the girls are simply adorable in their ballet-like dance dresses, the song sounds lovely, and the inside look at their dancing and other backstage activities were touching to see. What’s not to love about this PV? Everything about the PV just clicks for me.
100th post and of course, it’s about more NMB success. With Saturday’s sales and not including weekly adjustments yet, NMB48’s 3rd single Junjou U-19 has sold a total of 322,685 copies so far this week. The first NMB48 single to sell over 300,000 in its first week. Unsurprisingly, in terms of total sales, it looks like Junjou U-19 has overtaken Oh My God! as NMB48’s best selling single to date. Once again, congratulations NMB48!
Going to update on Junjou U-19’s first week sales continuously here on this post.
Second day figures for NMB48’s 3rd single Junjou U-19 have been released and NMB is still #1. The single sold 18,903 copies on its second day. After two days, the single has sold 299,270 copies. Almost at the 300,000 mark and I expect another surge to boost sales. So yeah, I think things are looking good for Junjou U-19 and NMB.
