My Pure·NMB Top 5 Ranking

Ever since Ebi48 closed down, I hadn’t done a new NMB ranking. Until I stumbled upon akbsort on Tumblr and used the ranker to rank all of the NMB members. And here’s my Top 5 NMB members.

My NMB Top 5 Ranking
5. Kawakami Chihiro (Chihhii)
4. Takano Yui (Yuipon)
3. Yamada Nana (Nana)
2. Yoshida Akari (Akarin)
1. Jo Eriko (Jo)

Chihhii has really jumped up my rankings and seeing her ice skate was a nice treat. Since Team M was originally formed, Yuipon has slowly but gradually found her way up my NMB ranking. And her hard work has paid off with more exposure and three straight singles making senbatsu. Nana, my original NMB oshi, is now captain of Team M and a concurrent member of SKE48 Team KII. And she’s still as amazing a performer as when I first start getting interested in NMB. I don’t even how it’s possible, but it seems Akarin gets prettier and prettier every time I see her. She definitely has quite the model aura about her.

And Jo… I absolutely love her.

My Pure·Delight – NMB48 in the AKB48 32th Single Senbatsu Election

About a week late, but the results for AKB48′s 32th Single Senbatsu Election were announced last Saturday. I’m happy that my kami oshi Minegishi Minami (Miichan) managed to increase her votes by about 13,000 and grab the 18th position. She might have dropped from Senbatsu to Undergirls, but considering evertyhing that’s happened, that’s a pretty happy result for me as a Miichan oshi. We have a new center in Sashihara Rino (Sasshi) and after years of fans speculating about Shinoda Mariko’s (Mariko) graduation from AKB, Mariko finally announced it.

But of course, this post is going to be about how NMB fared in the election. The preliminary results was less than desirable, but I think the final results should be one that should please NMB fans. Former NMB48 Team N member Yokoyama Yui (Yuihan) received 53,903 votes, ranking #13 and making senbatsu. As for current NMB members, the group managed to get 9 members to rank in the Top 64.

14. Yamamoto Sayaka (51,798 votes)
15. Watanabe Miyuki (44,116 votes)
28. Yamada Nana (23,950 votes)
40. Jonishi Kei (17,381 votes)
44. Yagura Fuuko (16,281 votes)
49. Yabushita Shu (14,745 votes)
50. Yoshida Akari (14,684 votes)
54. Ogasawara Mayu (13,460 votes)
57. Ichikawa Miori (12,616 votes)

Four NMB members ranked in the election for the first time. Team N’s Yoshida Akari (Akarin) and Team BII’s Yabushita Shu (Shuu) will accompany concurrent NMB member Ichikawa Miori (Miorin) and Team N member Ogasawara Mayu (Maachun) in Future Girls. And Team M ace Yagura Fuuko (Fuuchan) and Team N member Jonishi Kei (Keicchi) made their election debuts in Next Girls.

As for the five members who ranked last year (not including Fukumoto Aina), all the members managed to increase their votes and move up the rankings. Maachun jumped 6 spots from her ranking last year, after not ranking in the preliminary results. Miorin moved up a spot to the #57 position. Transferred Team M member Yamada Nana (Nana) nearly tripled the votes she received last year, leaping from Next Girls to Undergirls. And both Watanabe Miyuki (Milky) and Yamamoto Sayaka (Sayanee) moved from Undergirls to finally achieve Senbatsu status in the election.

Nice to see the NMB members ranking and moving up the election boards. Also, I’m quite pleased that Team M and BII were able to get some representation with Fuuchan and Shuu ranking. I’m hoping the following elections bring even more good results for NMB, like more members rankings and Milky and Sayanee jumping into higher (hopefully single-digit) senbatsu positions

Congratulations to all the Top 64 members in the AKB48 32th Single Senbatsu Election!

My Pure·Thoughts – NMB48 Request Hour Best Setlist 2013 Results

NMB48 Request Hour Best Setlist Top 30 has took place today, April 18th, 2013.

The biggest announcements of NMB’s Request Hour came after the Top 30 was revealed. We got two promotions as both 2nd Gen KKS Koga Narumi (Naru) and 4th Gen KKS Nishimura Aika (Aika) were promoted to Team N. Since there was only 1 open spot in N at the moment (Ainyan hasn’t officially graduated yet), we also got a team member transfer as Yamada Nana (Nana) was transferred from Team N to Team M, which had an open spot available.

Really thrilled for Naru, as her promotion was a long time coming. I can’t say I know much about Aika, but congratulations to her promotion and having the distinction for being the 1st 4th Gen member to make a team. As for Nana being transferred to Team M, I’m still completely confused on how I feel about it. It’s like it hasn’t even sunk in yet that my two favorite NMB members are both in M now. I hope Nana fits in well in M, but it sucks that she got transferred before Team N got an original stage. Hey Aki-P, get NMB some original stages already, please. Stop playing around.

As for the actual Request Hour, I’m generally pleased with all the results (except Boku ga Mou Sukoshi Daitan Nara not ranking). Although Zetsumetsu Kurokami Shoujo didn’t rank #1 like I wanted, Kesshou is a great NMB song and totally deserving of the top spot. I wished that I wish the event would have been streamed through G+, but I expected it wouldn’t. Hoping this gets a DVD release (or even better, a Blu-ray release).

Setlist results after the jump.

My Pure·Viewing of NMB48 no Teens Hakusho Episode 46

NMB48 no Teens Hakusho Episode 46

Another week, another superb episode of Teens Hakusho. This week’s episode features Team N members Yamada Nana (Nana), Kishino Rika (Rika-nyan), and Yoshida Akari (Akarin). And this week, we see the girls hit the slopes for some snowboarding and other winter fun.

From my own experience at the slopes, I know how difficult it can be to snowboard. In my case, it’s seemingly impossible. So this episode would be amiss if we didn’t have at least one NMB member with some snowboarding skills and that member of the three is Rika-nyan. Rika-nyan glides down the slope in style, making it easy to see that this isn’t her first time on a board. Let’s just say Akarin and Nana don’t have the same skills as Rika-nyan, but damn do they look cute looking scared trying to learn to ski and snowboard, respectively. But all the girls are able to successfully glide down from the top of the slopes and in one piece.

Afterwards, we get to see the girls ride snowmobiles through the snow trails. (Though how fun would it have been to see the girls drive the snowmobiles themselves? That would have been awesome.) Also, we get to see to girls have a snowball fight, using the latest technology in snowball fighting warfare. A little too overpriced for my taste though. Nothing beats a handmade snowball  in a snowball fight to me.

NMB48 no Teens Hakusho Episode 46NMB48 no Teens Hakusho Episode 46

And the main event of the episode is to see if Rika-nyan can successfully land a jump from a ramp on her snowboard. It’s not as easy as SSX and Cool Boarders makes it look and Rika-nyan struggles to land that ollie off the ramp. She lands short a few times and is unable to keep balance after the jump. But finally, after a few more tries, success…

NMB48 no Teens Hakusho Episode 46

Awesome episode and Rika-nyan was definitely the MVP of the episode. Mad props for her snowboarding skills.

My Pure·Viewing of NMB48 no Teens Hakusho Episode 45

NMB 48 no Teens Hakusho Episode 45

It’s been a crazy time being a ***48 lately and with all the craziness going on in the fandom, I wanted my first blog post in over a month to be on something simple.

So let’s get back to watching Teens Hakusho. This week’s episode of Teens Hakusho includes NMB members Yamada Nana (Nana), Shinohara Kanna (Kanchiru), and Okita Ayaka (Aapon). And this week’s episode of Teens Hakusho is my favorite kind of episode of Teens Hakusho: a food episode.

NMB enjoying crab legs, KFC, sweets, and more makes me happy. I envy the girls for being allowed to eat so much delicious food. Not much to explain about the episode really. If you love NMB and you love food, watch this episode and you won’t be disappointed. NMB food pic spam after the jump.

My Pure·Hopes and Wishes for NMB in 2013

Happy New Year everyone!

2012 was definitely a very successful yet emotional year for NMB48 and their fans. We saw 15 NMB members graduate along with the introduction of the new 3rd and 4th generation members. We saw the numbers of teams triple with the creation of Team M and Team BII. We saw five NMB members rank in the AKB’s 27th single election. We saw AKB48 Team A member Yokoyama Yui (Yuihan) transferred into the group and placed in Team N.We saw NMB dominate G+ with their antics and mayhem. We saw NMB release 4 great singles. We saw how awesomely funny NMB could be in Geinin!. And we finally, finally got NMB LODs for us fans to enjoy NMB in all their stage-worthy glory. And I probably missed something amazing that happened to NMB in 2012.

I’m hoping that 2013 is an even bigger year for the group. NMB already announced their releasing their 1st album scheduled for release on February 27th and that NMB will be getting their own Request Hour sometime in 2013. Of course, I have my own personal hopes and wishes for the group for 2013. My completely biased short wish list for 2013 after the jump.

My Pure·Viewing of NMB48 no Teens Hakusho Episode 13

Short picture spam post of a show I haven’t written about in awhile: NMB48 no Teens Hakusho! The latest episode features Team N members Yamada Nana (Nana) and Shinohara Kanna (Kanchiru) along with Team M member Yagura Fuuko (Fuuchan). This episode is about yukata. Two things I’ve learned about yukata: they’re pretty damn expensive and the NMB girls look beautiful wearing yukata. But of course, I think we all knew that.

I would recommend everyone watch this episode of NMB48 no Teens Hakusho just to see how beautiful the girls look in yukata.

Screencaps of Nana, Kanchiru, and Fuuchan looking beautiful in yukata after the jump.

My Pure·Delight – NMB48 in the AKB48 27th Single Senbatsu Election

This morning (last night in Japan) the results for AKB48’s 27th Single Senbatsu Election were finally announced and like many others from my timezone (US EST), I woke up early to watch every single on the live YouTube stream. Compared to last year, I really enjoyed this year’s election. There were many interesting moments to note from this year’s 64 member field from SKE48 dominating Undergirls to Umeda Ayaka (Ume-chan) finally making Senbatsu to Sashihara Rino (Sasshi) crashing the Top 4. And of course, I was happy to see my own kami-oshi Minegishi Minami (Miichan) move up a spot to #14 and make Senbatsu once again. Two of my votes to here. And I was thrilled to see NMB48 get 5 members into the Top 64.

18. Yamamoto Sayaka (23,020 votes)
19. Watanabe Miyuki (19,159 votes)
43. Fukumoto Aina (6,912 votes)
46. Yamada Nana (6,683 votes)
60. Ogasawara Mayu (5,919 votes)

Yamamoto Sayaka (Sayanee) and Watanabe Miyuki (Milky) in Undergirls, Fukumoto Aina (Ai-nyan) and Yamada Nana (Nana) in Next Girls, and Ogasawara Mayu (Maachun) in Future Girls. I’m a bit sad Maachun dropped so much from her #30 preliminary results ranking, but making Top 64 is still absolutely great for her. Ai-nyan managed to climb from her #55 ranking to past both Maachun and Nana to be the 3rd highest ranked NMB member. Still happy to see my NMB oshi Nana make Next Girls with Ai-nyan. It’s a great honor for both of them. And I’m slightly disappointed that Sayanee and Milky couldn’t crack senbatsu or lead Undergirls, but they both have high Undergirls positions, so I’m happy to see the two most popular members of NMB doing well.

As I said before, I’m also slightly concerned with the lack of a Team M or NMB KKS presence, but I expect their time to come later in any possible future elections. I really want Team M members Jo Eriko (Jo) and Shimada Rena (Shimarena) to rank in the election in the future.

Congratulations to all the Top 64 members for the AKB48 27th Single Senbatsu Election.

My Pure·Intrigue – NMB48 in the 1st Day Preliminary Results

It’s been only a day since AKB48’s 26th single Manatsu no sounds good! was released and on its first day, the single has sold 1,170,554 copies. And with those copies come the voting tickets to determine the senbatsu for the 27th single. The preliminary results from the 1st day have been released. While some results, such as Oshima Yuko (Yuko) and Kashiwagi Yuki (Yukirin) being 1st and 2nd respectively, were pretty much expected, there were a few surprises. And among the preliminary Top 64 results, we have five NMB48 members making the list!

18. Yamamoto Sayaka (3,218 votes)
19. Watanabe Miyuki (2,976 votes)
31. Ogasawara Mayu (1,746 votes)
42. Yamada Nana (1,136 votes)
55. Fukumoto Aina (816 votes)

If this ranking were to hold (which it won’t because there are plenty of votes still out there), NMB48 would have three Undergirls (positions #17-32) in Yamamoto Sayaka (Sayanee), Watanabe Miyuki (Milky), and Ogasawara Mayu (Maachun). Yamada Nana (Nana) would be a Next Girl (#33-48) and Fukumoto Aina (Ai-nyan) would be a Future Girl (#49-64).

Sayanee and Milky seem certain to make the Top 64, but it’s nice to see five NMB members in position to hear their names announced during the election. I’m pleasantly surprised to Maachun up so high to #31 so early. If she can maintain her Undergirls position, I will be completely thrilled. The only disappointing thing about the results is that there are no Team M members or NMB KKS in the list so far. I expect Jo Eriko (Jo) to make a push towards making Future Girls.

It’s officially election time and I’m anxious but excited. I have yet to receive my singles, so I have not cast my votes in the election yet. Anyways, hoping for favorable results for NMB and all of my favorite girls. Have fun voting for your favorites, people!

My Pure·Viewing of NMB48 no Teens Hakusho Episode 3

I’ve so busy with real life that it seems like I never have enough time to write here. Oh well, at least I always have time to watch NMB48 no Teens Hakusho. The latest episode features Team N members Yamada Nana (Nana) and Jonishi Kei (Keicchi) along with Team M member Murase Sae (Saepii). In this episode, the girls look at the wonders of purikura.
